French Toast - Cream Cheese With StrawberriesCream Cheese French Toast With Strawberries

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients:

French Toast

  • 1 - 16 ox. loaf French bread cut into 24 - 3/4" slices
  • 8 oz. cream cheese with pineapple
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 TBSP butter, melted

Topping

  • 1 quart (4 cups) fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 TBSP amaretto

Directions:

The Night Before

  1. Grease 13" x 9" baking dish.
  2. Spread 1 TBSP cream cheese on 12 bread slices.
  3. Top with remaining bread slice to form 12 sandwiches.
  4. Place bread in prepared baking dish.
  5. Beat eggs.
  6. Add milk, sugar, salt and cinnamon.
  7. Pour over bread.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Turn bread over and cover and refrigerate overnight.
  10. Chop strawberries.
  11. Combine strawberries, sugar and amaretto.
  12. Refrigerate overnight.

The Morning

  1. Preheat over to 400° F.
  2. Uncover and drizzle with melted butter.
  3. Bake 25-30 minutes.
  4. Serve French toast with strawberries.
